This is useless information as soon as you let Tanner type something.

I don't agree with everyone, but I agree mostly with Tessier's logic.

Price is a HUGE for MTL. If he stays healthy, regardless if it was Weber or Subban, MTL should make it.

For me: MTL, CGY and WPG are the likeliest.

Not sure how Cordell think the Atlantic is the weakest. I'd say it's a toss-up between the Atlantic and Pacific. The Atlantic as TAM and FLA while the Pacific has SJ and LA. After those teams, it's pretty much a coin flip.

Tanner - what do you have such a hate for the Canucks??? To say that they have one of the worst rosters in hockey is laughable. Sure it's a mix of vets and youth, but its talented.

Edmonton has great forwards but their D is awful and goaltending suspect at best.

The Canucks just seem stuck in purgatory. They're not a young up-and-coming team but not an old, savvy vet team. Their players aren't really all that bad, but they're really not all that great, either. Just a very "blah" team right now. The Sedin twins aren't what they once were, and the Canucks will basically go as far as they (and Eriksson) take them. Basically, just a very odd mix of players patch-worked together.

I don't hate them, but I think they're quite dysfunctional right now. As a Flyers fan, I know what a dysfunctional team looks like.

Most ppl/sites/odds makers have the habs in.

If price is healthy they've proven they are not only a playoff team but a contender for the division. I fully agree they're way too reliant on price but with him they're 100% a playoff squad and even with the loss of Subban the addition of Weber is close to net neutral this season and radulov and muller are big additions.

Look, it's wonderful to be a Penguin fan right now, but I also remember the dark ages of the few years prior to getting Sid. Pens fan had no illusions about how terrible the team was. We knew it.

This is a dark period for the Canucks. I don't want to be mean, but you guys will probably have the best shot at the #1 next year

I just hope your GM wises up. He doesn't seem to make the best decisions.

i am getting a kick out of the piling on Montreal this preseason. with a healthy Price they won the division in 2013, finished with 100 points and went to the ECF in 2014, finished with 110 points and won the division in 2015. now all of a sudden, a healthy Price isn't enough to get Montreal into the playoffs.

assuming Price plays 60 games at his usual level Montreal will cruise to 100 points and an automatic playoff berth. you're deluding yourself by thinking otherwise.

6 months ago a Weber for Subban swap would have been considered a net gain for Montreal. now that it actually happened, Subban has turned into a top 5-10 dman and Weber is washed up.

who could possibly have seen such an unexpected change of heart coming!?!?!?!?

i think most people are banking on Price getting injured or flaring up the previous injury again, which would be the main issue for montreal.

in the end it doesnt matter as all canadian teams will get destroyed in the first round, assuming any make it.

AND Baseball is Canada ' s game and that's why the Blue Jays will win the world series .

Ps this will be accomplished by knocking out the other team with beer cans during the games

As much as I think bergevin is not very good at his job, I actually like the Montoya pickup. Best backup habs have had in a while…should provide some stability if price goes down.

Montreal, assuming Price is healthy. Calgary, Winnipeg, and Edmonton on the bubble. Toronto, not yet. Ottawa, probably not, best case scenario bubble team for the next few years. Vancouver may well finish last in the entire league. If not this year, within the next two years.

You can have baseball, I'm your stereotypical Yankee fan that doesn't give a crap about baseball until they make the playoffs, but at least I'm honest about it.

The Canucks' two top scorers and starting goalie are 36 years old. Their top scorer under the age of 36 had 40 points. They had the second least goals scored in the league, and gave up the second most shots.

The second least goals where they're two highest scorers are 36 suggest that they could finish last in goals scored by a wide margin in the near future.

The second most shots allowed, with a goalie that played well and allowed them to give up just the 9 most goals, but he's also 36, leads me to believe they could end up giving up the most goals in the near future.

Together, you're looking at a team that is set up to be one of the worst bottom feeders we've seen since the Senators expansion teams. That's not purgatory, they're well on their way to hell.

I’m not buying into Winnipeg.

They play in a tough division.

Without trouba, their top 3 dmen of buff, Enstrom and myers doesn’t scream playoffs to me.

Much like the leafs, I can’t see their young players like connor, laine ehlers etc. having enough of a net positive impact to move them up the standings.

Ladd>Dano .. at least for now.

Wheeler is coming off a career season…unlikely to repeat it.

I just don’t see this roster being upgraded from last year.

Subban is a polarizing figure. 6 months ago, it would have been pretty split, on whether it would make the Habs better or not. Most also thought Weber had lost a bit of a step, even 6 months ago. 100% thought his contract was a problem though.

I think there are a lot (me included) that think Montreal may be a better team for a year or two, although it's close. it's the long term, and that contract, that is a nightmare for the Habs.

Weber isn't "washed up", he's still a top dman, but he's slowed down a little. Many considered him arguably the best dman in the league 3 or 4 years ago, but you probably haven't heard that in a few years, right?

What kind of person hates a hockey team? I have nothing against the Canucks, they just have a garbage team. Someone has to finish 30th and it isn't always going to be a team I hate.
